At the time, it was an experimental quad-line version of the Pro. Features were increased sail area, vented nose, and flexible t-fitting (to get around the dangers of breaking a t-fitting mentioned in my quad-dleta article). I only saw 2 or 3 X-1s during 1992, and basically forgot about them. The kite has been revamped as an SUL, with 1/2oz Icarex sail and "ridiculite" (1.5 wrap Advantage) frame. I know of no plans to market this kite, so don't bother asking. ;-) Jeff -- |Jeffrey C. The article about Dean Jordan on CNN mentioned that he was flying something called an "X-1". What is an "X-1"? Is this just a name for a prototype? Buena Vista Kites here in San Francisco makes a kite called an "X-10"--after the original name "XTC". I hope Dean doesn't call his kite this--it'll get real confusing :-)... -- _______ Steve Thomas steveth@netcom.com "You'll never go broke appealing to the lowest common denominator." -- Lisa Simpson = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
