One of the first experiences I had with the Chicago Flame was the loss of the standoff spars. I made replacements using an old Trlby spar and then using vinyl tubing sleeves, glued them into the cloth sleeves with silicon glue. since then no problems- the silicon stays flexible and there doesn't appear to be any weakening of the fabric. The Vinyl tubing was pleaced over the fabric sleeves fro strengthening. Otherwise, a good kite that seems quite responsive over a fair range of wind conditions. I don't have the lighter spars for it. Question for the gang: how is it in light winds with the lighter spars? Any experiences to relate? don FATAQ@cc.usu.edu Dept. of Geology Utah State Univ.
