New Product Review.. M.L.D. Associates..

Finger Straps
-------------

About a year ago, I asked Rudy Dopart at M.L.D. if he'd had any thoughts
about making finger straps.. I've been using and selling his 1" and 2"
wrist straps for quite some time.. He suggested that he'd like some ideas,
so I sent samples of a couple of designs from one of our local kite makers
that we'd been toying with.. A couple of weeks ago, he called and said he
had some finger straps ready and would send a sample.. To put it short,
they're great!! They are made of a rather thin, 1" nylon strapping, with
two finger loops that fit the first and second fingers nicely, and
terminated with either a D-ring or a heavy dacron line to larkshead your
fly lines to.. I like them for flying most any 3/4 size stunt kite and for
_light_ wind flying of many full size kites like the Scorpion, Katana, 3.11
or Kathy Goodwinds Zephyr.. Check with your local M.L.D. dealer (or me) for
FS1-D (D-ring) or FS-1S (dacron line)..

Gear Bag
--------

M.L.D. has also come out with a companion bag to go with their 'Big Wing'
kite bags that will carry any extra gear that you accumulate that won't fit
the side pockets in the kite bag any more.. This newest addition is a Gear
Bag (GB-1), and is made of the same water repellant nylon Cordura as the
kite bags. The bag is 10.5" wide, 22" long and 14" deep (26.67cm x 55.88cm
x 35.56cm) and has large 8" x 20" (20.32cm x 50.8cm) cargo pockets on
either side, similar to the kite bags, with zipper closures for the top and
cargo pockets. It has large, full wrap around handles large enough to get a
shoulder through. The high quality of materials and construction is the same
as I've come to expect from the rest of the M.L.D. Associates product line.
I was able to put all the stuff from my other (smaller) gear bag in it and
still have room for a change of clothes or two for the occaisional weekend
kite fest.. See your local M.L.D. dealer (or me) for the GB-1 Gear Bag.

Ob. Disclaimer:

I am a stunt kite dealer and carry some of the above mentioned
product(s). As such, my opinions may tend to be somewhat subjective.
