Here are the phrases (I hope Im not pushing your patience...) [I can translate some words but the meaning is lost] 1. Schnittmuster mit Paneelen 2. Schnittmuster ohne Paneele Beim Mittelsegal 2 werden im Unterschied zum Mittelsegal 1 an der Kante fur die Mittelstabtasche 2.8 cm zugegeben 3. Aub(Beta)ensegal 4. Gestange Mab(Beta)e 5. Anbringung der Waage am Seitenstab und Spannung des Segels uber die Pfeilnocke mit dem Gummiband 6. Befestigung der Waage an der Alumuffe der untern Spreize 7. Spannung des Gummibandes uber die Alumuffe 8. Das Gummiband wird vorne uber den Schlauchverbinder, durch den die Alumuffe fuhrt, nach hinten gespannt und von hinten auf die gleiche Weise nach vorne 9. Schlauchverbinder 10. untere Spreize 11. Die Kanten der Segelhalften und des Dacron werden bundig aufeinander gelegt und wie gezeigt vernaht Thanks. = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = From: andrei@namao.uucp (Andrei Chichak) Subject: Re: Help Translating German to English Message-ID: Organization: University Of Alberta, Edmonton Canada Date: Wed, 20 Jan 93 16:39:17 EST I got the same book and am currently making a spinoff from their plans. 1) bad plans ... the sail would be about 4" too long for the spars specified 2) I asked a couple of german people to translate, got the information needed but they didn't have enough kite knowledge to make a good translation. 3) Most of the Skyworks plans forget (?) to mention seam allowances. 4) They don't give indications of bridle points. So I said screw it and drafted the spinoff in about 2 hrs from first principals of : 3" wide nose 8' wing span 90 degree angle between the leading edges all other angles can be calculated. According to the book the size of the sail changes quite a bit by going from one color to two. Best to get it CLEAR in your mind what you are doing and possibly be ready to throw away your first attempt.
