It's a pseudo-acronym. It stands for most excellent flying machine, but I don't think that it, or it's heavier sibling the EFM were ever really meant to be called by anything but their acronyms. Sort of like the band REM; while r.e.m. has a definite meaning behind it, I don't think the band every intended for anyone to think that they should be referred to as random eye movement... E.F.M.: Excellent Flying Machine. Both made by Big Easy Kites. Among their many features, they come with two top spreaders for an adjustable aspect ratio. The EFM has a Beman 5.5 frame and 3/4 oz sail, the MEFM has a G-Force and Beman frame and a 1/2 oz sail. The fabric is .6 oz Icarex and the new kites come with heavy duty Cordura Nylon bags made by MLD.
