I received a letter today from Vic Walton of the Connetikiters Club asking that I encourage people to send business cards to seven-year-old Craig Sherford. Craig is terminally ill with cancer, but hopes to earn a place in the Guinness Book of Records as the person with the largest business card collection. I believe this request has already appeared on rec.kites, but if you haven't done so already, please take a moment to send a card, and a smile to a sick little kid. The address is Craig Sherford, Children's Make-A-Wish Foundation, 82 Perimeter Center East, Atlanta, GA 30346. Do ****NOT**** do this. Craig is in the book, he has recovered from his illness, he is all grown up and doing fine, although he wishes people would *PLEASE* stop sending him cards! I can't remember the name of the urban folklore group, but check it out... they have the complete story in a FAQ somewhere. Do ****NOT**** send any cards!!!! And now, we return to your regularly scheduled kiting... --Mike = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Date: Tue, 16 May 1995 13:30:52 -1000 From: norm@cup.hp.com (Norm Newlon) Message-Id: <3pbcjc$re0@hpindda.cup.hp.com> Organization: Information Networks Division: Hewlett Packard Subject: Re: Make-A-Wish Request # # ####### ### ## # # # ### # # # # # ### # # # # # # # # # # # # ## # # ### # # ####### ### Craig is an adult now, and he and his family and local postal officials have been begging people for years to STOP sending all the bloody cards.
