Something that caught my attention were the Crystals of Willi Koch, especially the large number of odd sized and colored Crystals attached to the parafoil. Does anyone have any plans or sources for this kind of stuff or similar 3-dimensional line junk? Looks like a great way to use up all my scraps. I suppose I could figure out the shapes of the individual sections to form the sphere and points (i.e., soccer ball with points)... I'm also looking for plans for a centipede (correct name?) ...that ring where the head chases the tail... Can anyone help me out? Thanks! We have several of his spiked bols (we call them "Madonnas") in stock, but he has not been making the crystals for sale or export -- yet. I'll ask him. I'm not aware of plans for the crystal being available, but I may have missed something in one of the European magazines or club newsletters. The "centipede" you asked about is not a centipede at all. The original name was Ringelschange (ring-snake) by Bernt Knupfer of Germany. Fran at High Fly is the exclusive US distributor. There were plans for something similar in AKA's Kiting last year. It was called "Katherine's Wheel". There are no building plans available. Willi hasn't published them. It is also not the case that these crystalls are the right thing for remaining ripstop rests - on the photo's in my web-page they may appear small, but they aren't really small ;-). The big ones in the middle have about 1 meter or so in diameter. I am going to write Willi a letter anyway today and I will try to get the building plan from him - so maybe...... sooner or later, they will be available here. Otherwise I hope that David can convince him to make some for sale :-). They really look great.
