The place where I learned much about knots and knot strength is the book "Practical Fishing Knots" by Lefty Kreh and Mark Sosin. The book has been recently updated and now bears the title "Practical Fishing Knots II". Anyway, they explain how to tie knots and show several of the stronger knots and give their knot strength. Since a lot of flying line is basically fishing line used in a different context, the information is of high quality. I recommend the book(s) to any kite flyer. I just bought PFK-II and will probably do a round of testing on Spectra.
