I'm a nice guy realy - I just fly off the handle occasionally. >Can any type of fishing line be used for serious stuntkites? i.e., mono >filament kevlar based 5tretch fishing line. Just wondering. >Why or why not? Thanks. Why: Low stretch gives good feel Cheap Why not: It will cut down anything else in the sky. Ok if you fly on your own, but regarded as *VERY* antisocial if you fly with others (particularly since they will be flying mush more expensive Spectra, which you will slice through like butter) Accidents - people do get caught on lines occasionaly - Kevlar's cutting power has been likened to glass impregnated line Twist performance - The abrasive feel means that you can put much less twist in the line before it locks up. UV - Kevlar degrades in sunlight. PS: Someone just left a message on my answering machine, asking for Peter Lynn's number, but didn't leave his name, so: Peter Lynn (NZ) (fax) +64 3 308 1905 Peter Lynn (NZ) (voice) +64 3 308 4538 Peter Lynn International (Holland) (fax) +31 70 347 34 85 Peter Lynn International (Holland) (voice) +31 70 382 04 23 Andrew -- Netiquette-of-the-day: The place for test postings is in a test newsgroup.
