I'm particularly interested in early European kites. I've seen a reference to kite flying as a pastime in the middle ages, but I haven't been able to find any kite designs that don't come from the far east. If anyone has found designs for early Euopean kites, could you please point me towards the information. Simon Schama wrote *The Embarrassment Of Riches* An Interpretation of Dutch Culture in the Golden Age (1500-1600's). The book containes numerous early references to kites from the Zaandam Bull story circa 1647. *Kinderspel* by Cats, 1650. *Het Hof van Hollandt* by Jan van de Velde II. *Childrens Games* from Jacob Cats 1628. These are woodcuts showing kiting in various forms. Wonderful reading as well. aoxomoxoa coreykite@aol.com = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
