I moderate a Kiting conference on a UK conferencing system called 'Compulink Information Exchange', or CIX for short. It's easy to confuse this with 'CIS', and I think this may be the source of this myth, since as far as I know there is *no* kite forum on Compuserve. [things about kite forum on Compuserve trimming] If you'd like a real kite forum, why not use irc? For those of you who don't know, the idea is this: irc (wait, wait while it loads) /join #kites and talk to leave /exit or /quit Of course, #kites will only be fun if people are on... If someone would like to try to start it up, give it your best shot. Although I support any and all means of discussing kiting stuff ( including the idea of an IRC group ), it's just not my style. IMHO a very large part of the success/attraction/usefulness of rec.kites can be traced back to the fact that it is a store - and - forward system. The IRC setup is much more useful considered in the context of particular geographical regions ( preferably not spanning too many time zones !:). As such, it fulfills a different purpose to rec.kites - so I see it as perhaps a useful extension to the 'electronic kiting' universe, but in no way a substitute for rec.kites. -- Mark de Roussier ************************************ Final thoughts, as breath is taken, Fall to rhythm, and the Edge of pure obsession, Resting in that wind blown cradle, Nothing moves, the world is still... ************************************ = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
