Ilene and I just had our first great weekend of buggying! Whattablastitwas!!!! On the down side, I blew a bearing mount on my buggy right away. This is the little plastic cup and flange doodad that keeps each bearing at the edge of the hub. Has anyone else had this happen? I think it was a combination of slightly overtightening the axle bolts, and cold temperatures (about -5 Celcius). We're surprised to hear that there is so little experience with Force 10 Foils out there. Steve Shapson has been a friend for a number of years. Toronto area kitefliers regularily took part in the kite skiing thing, pretty much from the start of it all. Actually, Quadrifoils are pretty rare up here. Of the quad foils in our local club about 3/4 are Force 10s. A few people have the larger 6.6m version. Steve has shown us a 13.2m version, but we were becalmed at the time so I can't say what it flys like. I fly a F10 4.4m and 2.8m (roughly equiv. to 50 sq.ft. and 30 sq.ft). I've also flown the Q-25, Q-50 and Q-75, but prefer the F10s. I've found that they move quicker and pull harder, and give me greater window. In their defence, the Quadrifoils do fly better as kites, that is, in non-traction applications. We've been flying the F10s for about a year, since not long after Steve's first production run. We would be happy to answer any questions relating to F10s. Michael Graves & Ilene Atkins = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
